FAQ

So this is my FAQ for the story Blood of the Damned. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have here. I will answer if I can without spoiler anything that has not been revealed. So feel free, ask away.

However, please note that answers may contain spoilers if you have not read up to the currently posted chapter.

Questions that come up in chapter threads:

Q: What about human/zombie hybrids? Or Carriers?
A: Though a carrier could be a human/zombie hybrid, there are no carriers in my story. There is no other way that something could be considered a human/zombie hybrid as the virus changes a person into a zombie.

Q: Does time in the story flow along with real life?
A: No it does not. The time between Part 1 and 2 was five years. Between Part 2 and the soon to come part 12 has been a mere 24 hours.
The Holiday specials take place at some point after the initial outbreak which was actually a few weeks before Part 1.

Q: Why did John cut through the mouth to get to the brain rather than the skull?
A: John did this to prevent the brain from being overly exposed to the elements. The brain being the only true weakness of a zombie, it wouldn't be good to have the skull opened which could allow a zombie to be killed simply by running through a forest where branches and thorns could cut it up.

nice picture, gives us something to enjoy whilst waiting for an answer.

so, same qeustion as before, the whole infection seqeunce.

The zombie disease is indeed a virus. Spread through body fluid entering the blood stream. So a bite would indeed turn someone into a zombie. If a person is too fucked up they won't get up as a zombie. They'll simply be dead. To clarify that statement, if the spine is disconnected from the brain, or the brain is destroyed, or blood (and hence the virus) are somehow blocked from the brain, the person will not rise. Also if a person dies of natural causes, they will not rise as a zombie. If they are infected somehow they can get up, but that is difficult as the heart is no longer pumping.

A vampire's bite will not turn someone into a zombie, nor will it turn someone into a vampire. The vampire turning has yet to be revealed.

and then qeustion numer 2, what really happened to the poor guys wife?

The daughter was infected at some point. The farmer's wife attempted to kill her ghoulish daughter, but Phil, the farmer, didn't like that and killed his wife instead, and buried her out back.

It's mentioned in Part 3 that she almost did something to the daughter, but never succeeded.

ahh, see, i thought the wife became a zombie and tried to kill the daugher.

and how did Haley know about the farmes daughter in the first place?

In Part 7, when Haley is feeding on the farmer, it is mentioned how she can smell the undead upstairs. Vampires can smell blood, even contained within a person's veins. They can also sense the corruption, the virus, within a zombie's blood.

you have this very well thought out havent you?

qeustion 3, where did you come up with the names for everybody?

you have already told me the story of Jay, but are the others just random names you came up with?

I try to keep everything making sense. I often have to go back to ensure everything clicks into place, and I like to leave hints before something happens.

Lila I actually looked up online. I was looking for a middle eastern name, so I found one.
Haley was just a name I really liked after seeing it in a few places.

The rest are pretty much just random.

cool, i try to keep my names as random as possible, but i do my best to make them sound like thier from the proper countries of origin. Nikolav for example is a very good Russian sounding name, Alexander is a good Macedonian name, as is Artemis and Cleomons and a host of other passive characters i shall make.

20000-names.com is a good place to look up names. It's what I use.

thankies!

and where do you find all these pictures?

some of them are really good, like this one, not just cause it's got a very hot chick on it, because it's just wonderfuly made.

To be specific, I can't remember. I either accidentally stumble across the pictures, someone sends them to me, or I find them using google.ca image search.

gross pic.

That all depends upon one's perspective. I quite enjoy the picture.
However, that's more a statement than a question.

Is the answer to what John is coming up? It's really been bothering me to what John is. He isn't like Wesker. He's not a hybrid, despite that he acts like both races, thought processes from us, increased strength from them. And you can't tell me that ripping someone's throat out is within human capacity. Not without drugs, or genetic rearranging. But he's not drugged out and this story hasn't even left the possibility of a big bad scientist behind this all to be possible. WHAT IS HE?

His answers are coming. And I thought the story has left it open for scientists to be behind some of it. Ripping out a throat. Hmm, I don't see why it would be impossible, but not with the ease that John did it.

How did Haley meet Damien in the first place?

They were friends from after Haley was turned.

what gave you the idea to write the story.

I'm actually not entirely sure. I've been wanting to write a vampire story for awhile now, and for shits and giggles I thought I'd write a quick story about vampires fighting zombies. It quickly expanded into something much larger however, and I'm quite happy with how it turned out.
