With you writing technique, I'm sure you're in the lists. And yeah, the lack of ranged weapons (save for an occasional bow/crossbow) would explain the increase in gore. I just feel dumb for not thinking about it like that...
Ah well. I'm in eager anticipation of the next installment.

As to the gore, its more than close ranged weapons, as its easy to skip over the gore with them, but also because the people in this are fighting back, wheras the zombies in the first did not. Not really. Also, the fights in so far are with smaller amounts of people allowing me to focus on every impact, whereas in 'Blood' it was a lot of large group of zombies, and it would get boring to have detailed descriptions on how each one had it's brain bucket smashed open.

He's important to me as a character. I needed him to be a bit of a psychopath, and so that's what he became.

Indeed I am. I am putting the finishing touches on Chapter 6 at the moment. The reason I've not updated in so long is that I've been helping a friend with his own story, and also doing some judging for some Writing contests. Chapter 6 should be up soon.
